Yesterday’s GT vs RR match of IPL 2025, which was played on 9th April at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, saw Rajasthan Royals suffer a disappointing 58-run defeat. This win was Gujarat Titans’ fourth win of the season.
After RR sent GT in to bat first in this match, GT scored 56 runs in the powerplay. Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill was dismissed early on a fast delivery from Jofra Archer. However, the runs that were scored in the powerplay were thanks to Sai Sudarshan allowing the team to make use of their first six overs. Jos Buttler scored 36 runs off 25 balls before he was dismissed on the last ball of the 10th over by Mahesh Theekshana.
Sai Sudarshan’s explosive innings of 82 runs came to an end in the final over of the innings. Earlier in the match, Shahrukh Khan’s 36 runs played a very valuable role in maintaining the momentum. Later Rahul Tewatia remained unbeaten on 24 runs off 12 balls. Archer was later called by RR. He gave only 30 runs in his four overs and took one wicket. Gujarat Titans finished their innings at 217/6.

As soon as Rajasthan Royals started batting, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored six runs off seven balls and Nitish Rana scored one run off three balls in the second and third overs and then both of their wickets fell. Sai Kishore 2/20 in 2.2 overs and Rashid Khan 2/37 were among the other wicket-takers. Shimron Hetmyer’s 52 off 32 balls and Samson’s 41 off 28 balls together put up a brilliant performance.
