In yesterday’s match, Sunil Narine played an explosive innings of 44 runs in 18 balls and after taking 3 wickets with his clever bowling, he also contributed with the bat, due to which Kolkata Knight Riders gave Chennai Super Kings a disappointing defeat by 8 wickets. This was the first time in IPL history that Chennai Super Kings lost 3 matches in a row at MA Chidambaram Stadium, on the other hand, KKR has reached the third position in the points table with this big win.
Sunil Narine took 3 strong wickets including the valuable wicket of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, due to which Kolkata Knight Riders gave Chennai Super Kings a chance to score only 103 runs in 20 overs.
This was CSK’s lowest score so far at their home ground MA Chidambaram Stadium, in which 7 batsmen of Chennai Super Kings failed to cross the single digit. Apart from Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Narine dismissed Rahul Tripathi and Ravindra Jadeja. On the other hand, supporting Narine, KKR’s Varun Chakraborty and Harshit Rana took 2-2 wickets.

KKR had no problem chasing the target of 104 runs in yesterday’s match. The 3-time IPL champions had a strong start to their innings, as Quinton de Kock and Narine gave a great start with their explosive batting. While de Kock scored 23 runs off 16 balls, on the other hand, Narine had a tremendous performance, in which he scored 44 runs off 18 balls with his bat.
Despite dismissing both KKR’s main batsmen, Chennai Super Kings were nowhere close to winning the match as Kolkata Knight Riders soon pulled off a big win. This was the biggest win for a team chasing a target against Chennai Super Kings in Chennai in the history of the season.
