BCCI Drops Harleen Deol From Women’s Central Contracts
The BCCI has clarified the central agreement of the Indian women’s team for the 2024-25 season. All-format captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Indian women’s team star batsman Smriti Mandhana and premier all-rounder Deepti Sharma have been placed in Grade A for their consistent performance.
The BCCI has prepared a list of 16 players, these 16 players have been divided into three grades based on their good performance and important role in the team.
Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma have been placed in Grade A. These three players have been seen performing consistently well in recent years, they remain the backbone of the Indian women’s team in all formats.
BCCI gives central contracts to women cricketers
Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma Apart from these star trio, Renuka Singh, Jemima Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh and Shafali Verma, these four women cricketers have got Grade B contracts. Yastika Bhatia, Radha Yadav, Shreyanka Patil and Titas Sadhu, these four women cricketers have got Grade C contracts.
Interestingly, some well-known faces of women cricketers like Rajeshwari Gaikwad, Meghna Singh and Harleen Deol are out of contract this year. Harleen had a decent performance in IPL 2025. On the other hand, promising players like Shreyanka Patil, Titas Sadhu and Arundhati Reddy have been given their first central contract.
The Indian women cricketers team will next take part in the ODI tri-series against Sri Lanka and South Africa from April 27, 2025. The team is also preparing for the Women’s World Cup 2025, which will be hosted in India later this year.
