Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli left fans worried by announcing their emotional Retirement from Test cricket ahead of the England tour 2025. Now both these legendary batsmen will focus only on ODI cricket. Indian team’s best veteran batsman Virat Kohli had earlier shown his interest in playing the 2027 ODI World Cup and captain Rohit Sharma also gave a lot of importance to ODI cricket in his career.
After getting the sad news of retirement recently, former Indian player Sunil Gavaskar Believes that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are unlikely to play in the 2027 World Cup. In Gavaskar’s opinion, there is no hope of Rohit and Virat playing till then.
Sunil Gavaskar Believes That Both the Great players Should Play Aggressively

Sunil Gavaskar said that both these Indian players have been successful in showing their brilliant performance in ODIs, but the question to note for 2027 is whether both those batsmen will still be able to play a great innings by maintaining the same level of aggression and agility. Still this important decision ultimately depends on the selection committee.
If the selectors feel that they are still capable in all formats, then both these great batsmen can be selected for the team. Sunil Gavaskar believes that if both these great batsmen continue to perform at the highest level of cricket and keep scoring brilliant centuries, then no one can stop them from making it to the 2027 World Cup team.
