One of the most exciting matches of IPL 2025 so far was the match of PBKS vs SRH, Sunrisers Hyderabad chased a big target of 246 runs in an amazing manner, they defeated Punjab Kings by 8 wickets in the 27th match of the season and registered their second win.
After winning the toss in yesterday’s match, PBKS decided to bat first on the flat pitch of Sunrisers Hyderabad and their batsmen took full advantage of this pitch. Punjab Kings’ young opener Priyansh Arya gave the team a great start, scoring 36 runs in just 13 balls. He was well supported by Prabhsimran Singh, who handled the innings by playing a strong innings of 42 runs in 23 balls. Captain Shreyas Iyer played an explosive innings of 82 runs in 36 balls and took the score forward by hitting many fours and sixes.
Despite PBKS batting like this, SRH bowlers showed their flair, with Harshal Patel taking 4 wickets for 42 runs. Ishan Malinga took 2 wickets, in which he took the wickets of important batsmen like Prabhsimran and Wadhera.
After PBKS batted, SRH chased 246 runs, their openers put their strength. Travis Head played a brilliant innings of 66 runs off 37 balls. However, Abhishek Sharma surprised everyone with his batting form by playing an explosive innings of 141 runs with the help of 14 fours and 10 sixes in 55 balls. His strong innings made it easy for the SRH team to chase the target.
Later Heinrich Klaasen and Ishan Kishan won the match with nine balls remaining and took SRH to 247/2 in 18.3 overs and celebrated their victory.
Punjab Kings bowlers looked under pressure in yesterday’s match and none of the bowlers were able to control the run rate. Arshdeep Singh was the only wicket-taker from their side, while Yuzvendra Chahal proved to be quite expensive despite dismissing Head. With this emphatic win, Sunrisers Hyderabad moved to 8th spot in the points table, due to which their net run rate and pace increased.
